Research Agents are a powerful feature in Moonlit Platform that automatically populate your Knowledge Base with relevant, up-to-date information from the web. This tool is especially useful for staying informed about specific topics or tracking competitors' content.

Deploying a Research Agent

  1. Navigate to the Knowledge Base page and select the Documents tab.

  2. In the Research Agents section, click the "+" button to create a new agent.

  3. Configure your agent by specifying:

    • Topic keyword

    • Search types (e.g., web, news)

    • Search country

    • Search language

How Research Agents Work

  • Agents run daily, performing web searches based on your specified keyword and search types.

  • They analyze the top 5 results for each search.

  • New ranking pages are automatically added to your Knowledge Base.

Use Case: Tracking Competitor Content

You can use Research Agents to monitor specific websites. For example, to track HubSpot's SEO content:

  1. Set the topic keyword as: site:hubspot.com "content marketing"

  2. Select only the "Web" search type if you don't need news results.

Monitoring Agent Activity

  • Click on an agent to view its activity log and performance chart.

  • The log shows recent actions taken by the agent.

  • The chart visualizes how often the agent adds new documents over time.

  • Pause or unpause agents as needed.
